This Privacy Policy applies to the IQ Trivia iOS application. By downloading or using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
Data We Collect
2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's standard UserDefaults storage. It is never transmitted to our servers:
- Quiz scores, accuracy, and IQ scores
- XP total and rank level
- Daily streak and longest streak
- Game mode preferences and difficulty settings
- App settings (sound, haptics, notification preferences)
- Onboarding completion status
- Remove Ads purchase state
2.2 Data Collected Automatically
The following data is collected automatically by third-party SDKs integrated in the app:

2.3 Data We Do Not Collect
- Name, email address, or account credentials (no sign-in required)
- Payment card details (handled entirely by Apple)
- Precise GPS location
- Contacts, photos, camera, or microphone data
- Health or biometric data
How We Use Your Data
- Analytics Understand how users interact with quiz modes and features to improve the app
- Stability Diagnose and fix crashes and performance issues via Crashlytics
- Advertising Display relevant ads to users who have not purchased Remove Ads
- Purchases Verify and restore the Remove Ads in-app purchase via Apple StoreKit
- Compliance Comply with applicable laws and Apple App Store policies
We do not use your data to build personal profiles, make automated decisions, or sell your data to third parties.
Third-Party Services
The app integrates the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:
Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics)
Provided by Google LLC. Firebase Analytics logs in-app events to help us understand usage patterns. Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports to improve stability.

Provided by Google LLC. AdMob serves banner and interstitial advertisements. If you grant ATT permission, personalised ads may be shown based on your interests. If you deny permission or purchase Remove Ads, only contextual (non-personalised) ads are shown or no ads at all.

Apple StoreKit & App Store
In-App Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We receive only a confirmation of the purchase — no payment details. Apple's privacy policy governs all payment data.

Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. Data may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- Third-party SDKs: as described in Section 4 (Google Firebase, AdMob, Apple)
- Legal requirements: if required by applicable law, court order, or government authority
- Business transfer: in the event of a merger or acquisition, subject to the same privacy protections
Data Retention
Local device data (scores, XP, settings) is retained until you delete the app or clear app data in iOS Settings.
Analytics and crash data collected by Firebase is retained per Google's standard retention policies (typically 14 months for Analytics). You can request deletion via the contact address below.
Advertising data retention is governed by Google AdMob's policies.
Your Rights
All Users
- Opt out of personalised ads: Deny ATT permission at app install, or go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and disable IQ Trivia. Non-personalised ads will still appear unless you purchase Remove Ads.
- Remove all local data: Delete the app from your device. All locally stored scores, XP, and preferences are permanently removed.
- Limit ad tracking (iOS): Go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising and disable Personalised Ads.
EU / EEA Residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your data
- Right to restrict processing — request that we limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to withdraw consent — withdraw ATT consent at any time via iOS Settings

Our legal basis for processing data is: Legitimate interest (analytics, crash reporting) and Consent (personalised advertising via ATT).
California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to know — what personal information we collect, use, and share
- Right to delete — request deletion of your personal information
- Right to opt-out of sale — we do not sell your personal information
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

Children's Privacy
IQ Trivia is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store for content suitability, but integrates advertising and analytics SDKs intended for general audiences.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to this app, please contact us at pdwap5@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete such information.
Security
All locally stored data is protected by iOS device encryption and sandboxing. Data transmitted to third-party services (Firebase, AdMob) is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide notice within the app. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
